A visit from Happy Bear
The Happy Bear project is a child sexual abuse prevention program that teaches children about touching and being touched and how to recognize and protect themselves from sexual assault. Happy Bear is especially effective because of the live presentation format with plenty of interaction with the children. Happy Bear will be visiting us on Wednesday, December 4th at 9:45 AM.
The intent of the presentation is to teach children that 1) touching can be good, bad or mixed-up (sexual assault), 2) they have the right to protect their bodies and to seek help when touching feels bad or mixed-up; and 3) mixed-up touch can happen by someone you know, even a friend.
Presentations are made in a sensitive and humorous manner, emphasizing the positive aspects of touching.
