Toddler Room Developmental Goals
We have a very full and busy classroom. We just welcomed our newest toddler, Cosmo, at the end of December 2016. This month we will also start getting a new visitor into our classroom, Gavin. He is turning one year old at the beginning of February. You will also notice that three of our oldest children will begin to visit the preschool classroom. Ellie Jo, Easton, and Kroix will be officially moving into the preschool room in March. We will definitely miss our friends, but are happy to welcome new ones! Each day we are working very hard on some self help skills that are important in the toddler years. We are working on putting on our socks and shoes, pulling up our own pants, and washing our hands. We are also working on getting better at brushing our teeth!! There are several children working on potty skills at different levels. During conferences, Lacey and I will discuss ways that each individual families can help us meet classroom goals and personal goals we set for each child in this area. Of course, we are working on the other areas of development as well. Each day we work on language and literacy, cognitive (thinking) skills, small and large muscle development, and social emotional regulation in addition to our self help skills. Please feel free to come to parent teacher conferences with your own goals in mind. Conferences are extremely important for school success and family satisfaction with UCD. I will be sending out conference times by Friday, February 10th. Conferences will be held on February 20th and UCD will be closed that day. If you have a request for a specific time, feel free to contact me in advance. IMPORTANT DATES TO REMEMBER IN FEBRUARY:
